Words of Blessing – September

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Praise Jesus, the smell of fresh cut lawn, the sunshine and all the amazing blossoms are in full bloom. If you are like me, you are now finding it a little easier to wake up in the morning. One thing I have done in the last week or so is enjoyed getting up and spending time with Jesus before I make my morning coffee. This has been so beneficial and has helped me position myself for the day at hand.
I have found the devotions in the Transformed Journal very helpful for this, and early in the morning, while I still am a little sleepy, the reflections have been an encouragement. How are you going with your journaling?

Have you got a testimony that could be shared during the Transformed campaign? We are looking for at least 1-2 people with a story to share about each of the 7 areas we are looking at. At the conclusion of the campaign we are hoping to have a celebration Sunday where we can spend time in each service testifying to the great things Jesus has done. If you have a story, please share this with your GROW Group Host who will be sure to pass the information on to Amy Brown and they will get through to the team planning the Celebration Weekend. I am so excited to hear what God is doing through the Word and prayer in your life. So please, don’t be shy, tell your story so God can receive the glory!

In one of the daily reading during the week we had a passage by the Apostle Paul to the Philippian church. During his prayer time, Paul was remembering them before the Lord and in Chapter 1 and verse 6 he writes;

“being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

I absolutely love this prayer. Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, the one who showed Himself faithful even unto the cross, has not only begun a work in us, but He will bring it to completion as we journey with Him, right the way through to His very return. Now that’s a good word!

This is not based on you, your effort or your faithfulness, but entirely on His faithfulness. And He has the confidence that you and I will put our trust in Him to see this outworked in our lives. Jesus is truly amazing, and He will see us grow up into the fullness of His plans and vision so the Father may receive the glory forever more.

Are you confident of this? Your fruitful activity in Jesus will continue as you journey with Jesus in this life, he assures us of this. What great news this is, and as we cleave to Him, truly abiding in Him in this transformation process, we will fulfil His call on our lives and we will hear those beautiful words on that day,

“well done good and faithful servant, enter into my rest.”

This month we will continue in our campaign, more news will come as we work together seeking the Kingdom. Continue reading your devotions, this will form a good habit in you, don’t miss a GROW Group meeting or a Sunday service. There is so much to gain by remaining steadfast and trusting Jesus will outwork a good work in you.

Remember we have 2 services running on Sunday’s, 8:30am and 10:30am and I have been super blessed to see these being successful. Keep watching for more change 🙂 Blessings! – Ps Steve
